Join us in a memorable experience to Hungay to discover the legendary region of Tokaj. This volcanic area produces some of the world’s best sweet wine, as well as super concentrated dry Furmints.
Located in the north eastern tip of Hungary, Tokaj is the most famous wine region in the country, with a long wine history and famous for one of the oldest sweet wines in the world-Tokaji Aszú. The village of Tokaj gives the name to the entire region, which covers 27 distinctive villages, with over 5400 hectares of vines under production.
Viticultural traditions here date back at least 1,000 years. Everything about Tokaj—from its mixture of loess and volcanic clay soil and its microclimate to its local grape varieties and its underground labyrinth of black mold covered cellars—contributes to the distinctive personality of its memorable wines.
In our adventure we will travel from North to South and visit some of the most important small producers and discover their incredible wines and historical vineyards.
