Szent Donat-Magma-Kekfrankos-2020

Varietals: Kékfrankos (or Blaufränkisch) is a local Hungarian grape possibly to originate from Lower Styria, currently part of Slovenia. It is planted all over Hungary and the city of Sopron in the western part of Hungary is considered the capital of Kekfrankos. It produces wines with soft tannins, fresh acidity and it has a crunchy sour cherry and spicy character.

Tasting Notes: Intense nose with the specific aromas of sour cherries, earth, and dark berry fruits. On the palate it has a medium body, velvety tannins, fresh acidity and mineral touches. Very pleasant and well balanced with more flavours of juicy sour cherries, ripe raspberry, anise and  long earthy finish.

Wine Type: Red dry wine.

Ageing: 10 months in large Frenh Oak barrels.

Alcohol: 13%

Food Pairing: Grilled Meat, Schnitzel, Lamb or Roasted Duck with paprika.
