Varietals: Juhfark (Sheep's Tail) is a grape native to Somló, the smallest appellation in western Hungary. Somló is famous for its distinctively terroir driven mineral wines; the soil is clay, sand, loess and volcanic basalt rock; neutral grape but in the right hands can deliver astonishing mineral wines, crisp with tones of citrus, stone fruits, rhubarb and creamy palate.
Tasting notes: Dutsty mineral nose with aromas of white pepper, smoke and crushed yellow apples. On the palate soft with a great texture of minerals and stone fruits complemented by a fresh salty finish.
Region: Nagy-Somlói, Hungary.
Vinification: Spontaneous Fermented and aged in used 500L French and Hungarian barrels.
Alcohol:12.5%
Food Pairing: Grilled White Fish, Roasted Chicken with potatoes puree, Sushi or Young Goat Cheese.
