Varietals: Furmint is a late-ripening grape and produces wines with relatively high acidity, and high alcohol levels. These characteristics make it an incredibly versatile grape with a great ageing potential.
*Szamorodni is a sweet wine style of Tokaj, created from whole bunches of grapes, with a mixture of healthy and botrytized berries. The sweet version is made in a similar way to the world-famous wines of Sauternes. It typically has 50 to 100 grams of residual sugar, similar to a German or Austrian Beerenauslese (BA), and it is aged for at least two years (one of which is in barrels) down in Tokaj’s black-mold-lined cellars.
Tasting Notes:With 149g/l this exceptional wine has more than three times the concentration of a basic Szamorodni and it is balanced by 7.8 g of acidity. Powerful with aromas of dried apricots, acacia honey, dried mango and pineapple jam. It has a rich palate, with crisp acidity and round sweetness.
